Prof. Dr. Peter Ehnold

Prof. Dr. Peter Ehnold ist seit 2016 Professor für Sportökonomie und Sportsoziologie an der IST-Hochschule für Management und verantwortet dort den Master-Studiengang „Sportbusiness Management“. Er studierte Sportökonomie (Magister) sowie Betriebswirtschaftslehre (Diplom) an der TU Chemnitz, wo er zudem seine Promotion zum Dr. phil. abschloss. Von 2007 bis 2013 war er wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an der Professur für Sportsoziologie und Sportmanagement der TU Chemnitz. Anschließend war er von 2013 bis 2016 an der Universität Bielefeld als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter in den Bereichen „Sport und Wirtschaft“ sowie „Sport und Gesellschaft“ tätig. Parallel zu seiner Hochschultätigkeit war Prof. Dr. Ehnold von 2007 bis 2011 geschäftsführender Gesellschafter einer Einrichtung für Fitness, Gesundheit und Wellness. Seine Aufgabenbereiche umfassten Finanzierung, Debitorenmanagement, Personalentwicklung sowie steuerliche Optimierung.

Prof. Dr Peter Ehnold has been a Professor of Sports Economics and Sports Sociology at IST University of Applied Sciences for Management since 2016 and is responsible for the master’s programme in Sport Business Management. He studied Sports Economics (Magister) and Business Administration (Diploma) at Chemnitz University of Technology, where he also completed his PhD in sport science. From 2007 to 2013, he worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Sports Sociology and Sports Management at Chemnitz University of Technology. He then worked at Bielefeld University from 2013 to 2016 as a research assistant in the fields of Sports and Economics and Sports and Society. In parallel to his academic work, Prof. Dr Ehnold was the managing partner of a fitness, health and wellness centre from 2007 to 2011. His responsibilities in this role included Finance, Accounts Receivable Management, Personnel Development, and Tax Optimisation.
